The United Way Giving Campaign is Trinseo’s annual, company-wide fundraising program in which employees rally together to raise and donate funds to support United Way’s community-strengthening initiatives. Beyond raising funds, many Trinseo employees are also actively involved in volunteer programs with United Way.
At Trinseo’s Midland, Michigan, USA office, the participation in Young Leaders of United Way Midland County has doubled over the past year. These team members serve as ambassadors and lead a variety of community volunteer programs year-round.
In 2020, our Midland, MI location partnered with eight agencies in support of various community events. Midland employees worked a combined 1,539 volunteer hours. Even more impressive was the outpouring of support from Trinseo employees who met the needs of their neighbors in the wake of the floods that devastated Midland County, with 700 hours of the total directly impacting relief efforts.
In 2021, teams volunteered over 645 hours in support of 10 activities with local impact, including ongoing flood relief efforts, food drives, teacher appreciation (Adopt-A-School), and housing assistance.
Trinseo Midland continues to be recognized through United Way's "Companies that Care" awards, earning this distinction since 2014. Recipients are characterized not only by the financial commitment they and their employees make but also by their impact through community advocacy and volunteerism. They serve as the foundation for real change and continue the strong legacy of compassion for those in need.
