Supporting Chemistry & Engineering Education

The innovations within the chemical industry start with bright minds.

That’s why Trinseo is committed to supporting STEM education and the next generation of chemical and engineering professionals through programming and sponsorships.

Through the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) Scholars Program, Trinseo offers internships for college students who are interested in industrial careers in chemistry and chemical engineering, and have outstanding academic potential. Trinseo has also been a proud sponsor of the Science History Institute’s Innovation Day, a conference that brings together young industry leaders working to build new solutions for tomorrow’s challenges, and the American Chemical Society’s New York Section STEM Awards.

Ensuring a safe workforce today and for future generations is intrinsic to Trinseo, and we recognize that each new generation of the chemical industry workforce needs to be well-equipped with an understanding of safety best practices. Trinseo is proud to support the Undergraduate Process Safety Learning Initiative of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). During phase 1 of the Initiative, Trinseo donated $50,000 to directly support curriculum development at university chemical engineering programs, faculty training, and student instruction and enrichment. During phase 2, Trinseo’s Zhangjiagang site in China will offer a process safety training certification program for students during 2019.
